
DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): The joint council of the Steering Executive and Cabinet NSCN/GPRN in its meeting “seriously discussed” over the murder case of Md Israr, a prominent businessman of Dimapur town. According to a termination order signed by Samson Jajo, Chief Principal Secretary, it was decided that any NSCN/GPRN cadre involved in this murder would be terminated from the national service and whoever was absconding from the hand of the law shall be brought to trial “at any cost”. As such the termination order as per the decision of the joint council has terminated Maj Rosu Rhi, Naga Army and 2/Lt Umesh Singh, Naga Army from the national service with immediate effect. The order also assured that the NSCN/GPRN will leave no stone unturned until Lt Umesh Singh is brought to a “fair trial”.
In a separate press note from IPR/GHQ, Naga Army it was informed that the two Naga Army personnel were involved in the murder of Md. Israr in Dimapur and that they have been court martialed and terminated from national service.
The verdict was given at the session of Military Tribunal Court, convened by the Longvibu, stated Lt Col S. Shipo. The panel, in condemnation of the gruesome act, found AB-11501 Major Rosu Rhi and AB-11845 2nd Lieut. Umesh Singh guilty of breaching the military code of conduct in the highest order when they acted in their own selfish motive to kidnap for ransom and ultimately committed the heinous crime. The duo were tried and convicted in absentia, the press note informed.
