NSCW holds seminar on women in sports 

DIMAPUR, JUNE 18 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), in collaboration with Life Sports Nagaland and Department of Youth Resource & Sports, supported by National Commission for Women (NCW),New Delhi, held a Seminar on Women in Sports at Indira Gandhi Sports Academy, Kohima on June 17.

Nyuvitho Nyuthe, Asst Director, Directorate of Youth Resource and Sports highlighted on the ‘Sports Policy & Opportunities for Women in Sports.’  ‘A Sportsgirl’s Story’ was shared by Khrolou T Mero, Alumnus of IG Sports Academy; while Apila Sangtam, Legal Consultant, Nagaland State Commission for Women, briefed the audience on ‘Awareness on Ethics & Harassment in Sports.’ 

Dr Neeta Kumari, Head Coach (Boxing) Khelo India Centre of Excellence, Kohima highlighted on the ‘Scope of Rural Sportsperson at National & International Level,’ and a talk on ‘Importance of Grassroots Sports & Education’ was given by Cüneyi Lohe, Coordinator, Life Sports Nagaland.

The participants included the sports students of Indira Gandhi Sports Academy, Kohima studying in various educational institutions, the coaches and warden of the hostel.
