NSF and ENSF to ban movement of govt vehicles from Oct 12

Kohima, October 5 (MExN): Following the inaction of the state government to regularize the appointment of the 2010 and 2013 batches of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers into the state education cadre, the Naga Students’ Federation and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation on Monday notified a state-wide ban on movement of government registered vehicles from October 12 onwards.

In a joint statement, NSF president Ninoto Awomi and ENSF president Sepili L Sangtam informed that as part of the first phase of agitation, the ban on movement of government registered vehicles bearing NL-10 and NL-11 will be imposed till further notice from the federations.

“However, vehicles on duty for medical services, Administration & Police, Fire & Emergency services will be exempted from the purview of the agitation,” it added.

It directed the federating units and sub-ordinate bodies of both the NSF and ENSF to "initiate necessary ground level preparation in their respective jurisdiction".

The federations also appealed to all concerned to cooperate with the agitation and cautioned that any "unwanted consequences upon its dereliction shall be the sole responsibility of the violators."

The call for agitation comes after the lapse of the 30-day joint ultimatum that was submitted to the state government on September 2 with regard to mainstreaming of SSA & RMSA Teachers 2010 & 2013 batch into the state education cadre.

On October 2, the federations announced that it had unanimously resolved to call for a "democratic agitation" and expressed its "dissatisfaction at the inaction of the state government" pertaining to the response letter from the state government, dated September 23. At the time, the Federations did not announce the nature of agitations.
