Kohima, February 9 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has condemned the alleged incident on February 5 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata wherein the Secretary General of Naga People's Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Neingolu Krome was prevented from boarding his scheduled flight to Bangkok by immigration officials without providing any clear reason.

The Federation is confounded by the reasoning given by the immigration officials that the government has put a ban on his (Krome) foreign travels, the NSF said in a statement issued by its media cell.

Placing a travel ban on a human right activist of international repute, it added, is an attempt to “stifle the voices of those advocating for a just and fair society.”

In this connection, the NSF demanded the authorities concerned to come clean on the reasons why a foreign travel ban has been arbitrarily placed against the Secretary General and “the same be revoked with immediate effect.”
