NSF to hoist black flags against ‘state sponsored atrocities’

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 11 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) in line with the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) today informed that it will be hoisting black flags in and around the state as a sign of resentment against what it termed was “perpetration of State sponsored atrocities against the public and indigenous people.”

A press note from NSF President, Kesosul Christopher Ltu and General Secretary, Imtiyapang Imsong informed that this was a protest, among others against the police firing on unarmed protestors in Tripura on January 8.

It was also in protest against the attack on an ambulance "by police while carrying injured persons" and blocking of NESO officials to meet with the injured persons at Khumlwng Hospital, Twipra on January 11, it said.

The NSF is also hoisting the black flags to voiced out against the "police firing on the protestors at Imphal, Manipur on January 11 resulting in injuries to 4 persons while protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, it added.
