NSF honours 114 Naga academic toppers

The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) honoured 114 Naga toppers in the recent HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2025. In a felicitation programme held at SIRD Auditorium, Kohima on July 25, the NSF conferred citation to 89 Naga toppers in HSLC and 25 in HSSLC in the presences of Nagaland Rural Development & SIRD Minister, Metsubo Jamir and Nagaland Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise Advisor, Maotoshi Longkumer.

Congratulating the toppers, Jamir said “This success is not just a milestone in your life. It is a stepping stone. There will be many more milestones and challenges that you have to face.”

Jamir also urged the students to carry the responsibility with integrity. Stressing the importance of skill-based learning, Jamir added, “Don’t rely only on books. Book knowledge helps you enter the world, but character, integrity and consistency determine your future.”

NSF President, Medovi Rhi said expressed deepest appreciation to the parents for their encouragement and sacrifices which have been instrumental in the achievements of their children. The role of parents in the educational journey is indispensable and their steadfast support is a pillar of strength for all the students, he said. 

As we celebrate your success, he said “Success, as you have experienced, is a result of consistent effort and determination but ego can be a dangerous companion on the road to success. As you climb higher, let your humility be your guide, ensuring that your success is both meaningful and lasting.”

Stating that the road ahead will not always be smooth, Rhi said “There will be setbacks, but it is your perseverance that will help you rise above them.” Each obstacle you overcome will shape you into a more capable and resilient individual, he said.

As students, you are the architects of our future, he said adding that “each one of you holds within your hands the key to shaping a brighter tomorrow for our Naga Society. Each of you carries the potential to make a significant impact, not only through your studies but also through your actions and choices.”

It is your responsibility to uphold the values that define us as Nagas resilience, unity, and a commitment to progress, he added.

Let us never lose sight of our duty to serve and work tirelessly towards a future where the unified Lim and glory of Nagas shine brightly for all to see, he said. May your achievements inspire others to strive for excellence and may you continue to shine brightly in your future endeavours, NSF president added.

HSLC rank No. 1 Lungyihangle Nring spoke on behalf of the toppers while Dr. Villo Naleo, Secretary, Social Concerns, Nagaland Baptist Church Council offered a special prayer for the toppers.

The felicitation of toppers was led by NSF General Secretary Chumben Khuvung. Mezanuo Ngukha presented a special number. The programme was chaired by NSF assistant general secretary Kenilo Kent while Rev. Velavoyi Keyho, Pastor, Phezoucha Nagamese Baptist Church invoked God’s grace. It concluded with vote of thanks by NSF vice president Mteisuding.
