In a dramatic finish to Matchday 11 of the ongoing Nagaland Super League (NSL), Nagaland United Sporting Club (NUSC) clinched a thrilling 2-1 win over Frontier Warrior Football Club (FWFC) in ‘extra time’ of injury time at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on March 5.

Trailing 1-0 till the 65th minute of the game, the NUSC seem to be set for a draw against the bottom-of-the-table FWFC.

However, in the ‘extra time’ of allotted fourth minute of injury time (94:28), a defensive error inside the box allowed NUSC to score the winning goal, sealing all three points.

With this victory, NUSC moved up to 19 points, just one behind league leaders Barak FC at the end of Matchday 11.

Earlier, Barak FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Sechü Zubza FC in a hard-fought encounter, failing to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Despite the draw, Barak remains in first place, but their advantage has been reduced.

Meanwhile, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima, 27 United FC produced a solid performance, defeating Red Scars FC 1-0.

The win saw 27 United climb to 9 points, equal with Red Scars, but lower in position at fifth place due to latter’s superior goal difference. Red Scars remain fourth.
