Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) on April 21 distributed prizes to winners of the National Youth Reel & Short Film Competition, “Frames of Justice,” held at the state level under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).

According to an NSLSA release, the event was organised to mark National Women’s Day 2026 and the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu.

Addressing law students at the programme, Member Secretary, NSLSA, Neiko Akami, underscored the importance of continuous learning in the legal profession. He noted that law is a dynamic field and urged students to regularly update their knowledge and skills, particularly in the digital age.

He further encouraged students to act as ambassadors of legal services by spreading awareness on legal rights and entitlements, especially among marginalised and underprivileged sections.

In the competition, the short film “The Unheard Silence”, based on the theme NALSA (ASHA—Awareness, Support, Help and Action) Standard Operating Procedure Towards Eliminating Child Marriage, 2025, won first prize.

The film was compiled by Atsali Sangtam, Medosanuo Sokrano, Tiarenba Longkumer, Jinenle Wanth, Lanukaba Jamir, Medono Kipu, Nzanbeni E Kikon, and Shelly P Achumi.

The runner-up prize went to Amendra Kumar, a fourth-semester student of Kohima Law College, for the video “Legal Services to Senior Citizens” under the NALSA scheme of the same name (2016).

Certificates and cash prizes were distributed to the winners and participants during the programme.
