NSLSA members attend Legal Service Day in Delhi

Kohima, November 10 (MExN): Members of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) attended observation of Legal Services Day and Commendation Ceremony of best DLSAs and best PLVs held in association with Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi on November 9.  

The NSLSA team led by Nino Iralu, Member Secretary NSLSA and Special Judge TDP Vigilance Commission comprised of Nokshei Kano, Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Secretary Tuensang DLSA, Phuleto Yeptho, JMFC and Secretary Mokokchung DLSA, and Bendangsenla Jamir, PLV Mokokchung DLSA.  

Four persons from each State Legal Services Authority in India, i.e. Member Secretary, SLSA, Chairperson and Secretary of the Best DLSA and the Best PLV selected by the SLSA, attended the ceremony, informed a press release from NSLSA.  

Basant Gopi of Jharkhand bagged the National best Paralegal Volunteer (PLV), Narapati Brahma of Kokrajhar DLSA won the best PLV in North East zone, and Tripura won Best District Legal Services Authority in North East zone.  

On the occasion, the 10 days pan India outreach programme ‘Connecting to Serve’ was launched and Training Module for Para Legal Volunteers was also released.  

The chief guest of the event was Justice Dipak Misra, Chief Justice of India & Patron-in-Chief, NALSA, while the guest of honour was Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Law & Justice and Electronics and Information Technology.  

Dignitaries present at the ceremony were Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairperson, NALSA, Justice Madan B. Lokur, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Chairperson, SCLSC, and Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Chairperson, DHCLSC.
