Zunheboto, October 9 (MExN): The launching programme of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) RD Block Tokiye Zunheboto under the department of Rural Development was held at GHSS Auditorium Aghunato Town on October 7 by Project Director DRDA Zunheboto Shekiho Phuleshe.
Speaking at the launch, the Project Director highlighted that NRLM was launched as a restructured of Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) and Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) after studying the success of self-help groups, particularly in Andhra Pradesh. He also asserted that it is progressing all over India and Nagaland was one of the top performing states and appealed to the village councils and VDBs to extend full support to the Mission.
Assistant District Program Manager (ADPM), Vika Yeptho highlighted the progress and status of NSRLM in Zunheboto District. Project Officer DRDA, Zunheboto Inavi Chishi exhorted the stakeholders with the example of success story of SHGs and its Federations in Andhra Pradesh.
District Coordinator Financial Inclusion Kitoho Chophi shared the importance of financial literacy and seeks the full cooperation from the stakeholder of the villagers to this mission for their own benefit. The launched programme was attended by DMMU, BDO staff, village councils, VDBs, STH members and existing SHG leaders. The programme was invoke by Vitoho Sumi Associate Pastor Youth Aghunato Town Baptist Church,and chaired by Jafet Sumi Area Coordinator Tokiye Block, while Shihani Tsuipu Block Program Manager Tokiye delivered vote of thanks and validated the programme.
