Wokha, June 16 (MExN): As part of the departmental monitoring inspection, Chichanthung Shitiri, Area Coordinator, (SISD) NSRLM-RD Department visited various villages under Bhandari Block to oversee the work progress of Community Surveillance Team formed to contain the spread of corona virus in the rural areas. 

The importance of getting vaccination, specifically covering the vulnerable groups was iterated and that the government would remain steadfast in its support and with the intent of achieving 100% vaccination drive, stated a press note issued by Erenbeni Ngullie, BPM, NSRLM-RD Department, Bhandari Block, Wokha.

Shitiri handed over basic medical kits like oximeter, thermometer, sanitizer, face masks to the SHGs in high risk villages. Other essential items were also provided to the elderly groups, People with Disabilities and Differently Abled, vagabonds, migrant workers in the presence of SHG members.

Awareness on COVID-19 second wave, its symptoms and how to take care of affected members at home were disseminated.
The Area Coordinator also inspected the isolation centres of various villages which were established by the SHGs in coordination with village stakeholders like village council, GB, ASHA and church members.

Shitiri alongside community cadre, SHG members and ASHA visited households from Ruchan village under Bhandari block in the ongoing tracking exercise of community surveillance of people with COVID-19 like symptoms/Influenza like illness while maintaining SoPs.
