Kohima, September 2 (MExN): Nagaland contingents of National Service Scheme (NSS) participated at the 1st NSS North East Festival 2022 in Gangtok, Sikkim from August 27 to 31.

30 NSS volunteers from Don Bosco College Kohima and Pfutsero Government College, Phek attended the festival.

The team was led by two programme officers- Nüveta Khüsoh, Asst. Professor, Pfutsero Government College and Rokovino Lohe, Asst. Professor, Don Bosco College Kohima.

A week-long festival provides exposure of diverse culture and traditions of the eight north eastern states of India.

The resource persons at the technical sessions included; Arjan Chowdhary, Anjan Chowdhary, Faculty Development Trainer, soft skills consultant & Founder Skillfinity and  Dewakar Basnett, Chief Learning Officer, 24 Hours.

The volunteers visited different places like Ganesh Tok,Tashi View point, Bakthang falls and the heart town of Gangtok.

The festival was also marked by Zumba session, cleanliness drive and traditional songs and games.

The festival was graced by Indra Hang Subba, MP and Sonam Venchungpa, MLA.

Meanwhile, the team acknowledged Nagaland State NSS Officer Zenikho Benedict for providing an opportunity to the volunteers to explore many new places.

The festival was organized by Sikkim State NSS Cell, Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
