NSSB issue: ENSF to ‘proceed with further course of action’

Tuensang, April 9 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation with its federating units and other organisations of the eastern Naga region have resolved to “proceed with further course of action” on its demand for inclusion of exempted Government departments and posts in the Nagaland Staff Selection Board Regulation (NSSB), 2020.

Earlier on April 3, the Federation had convened a ‘crucial meeting’ with its federating units and other organisations of the eastern Naga region, criticising the “stone cold response” from the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department on the 30 days ultimatum served to the State Government for inclusion of exempted departments and posts under NSSB.

This was followed by a meeting on April 8, wherein the resolution was made after ‘threadbare discussion’ on the matter, according to a press release on Saturday. The ENSF however did not elaborate on the ‘course of action’ it would initiate.

The federating units which took part in the meeting included the Chang Wedoshi Setsang, Khiamniungan Students’ Union, Konyak Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, Tikhir Students’ Union, United Sangtam Students’ Conference and Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako. The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation, Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation, ENSF Advisors, legal advisors and Eastern intellectuals also took part in the meeting, as per the release.

Meanwhile, the ENSF  informed that it affiliated the TSU  as its 7th Federating unit of ENSF during the 21st Federal Assembly 2022 on March 4, at ITC DAN, Noklak.

An induction programme was held on April 8, wherein, Tiven Tikhir, Suchemshe, and Jongyanthong were inducted as Asst General Secretary, Asst Women Coordinator and Advisor respectively for 2021-2024 tenure, the release stated.
