NST launches city bus service in Mokokchung Town

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) department has introduced Mokokchung City Bus Service on January 26.

The Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways & Land Resources, Nagaland, P. Paiwang Konyak flagged off the service on Saturday from NST Station, Mokokchung.

He was the special guest at the 70th Republic Day celebration at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.

Earlier, a notification from the General Manager, NST Dimapur said the City Bus Service is in pursuance to State Government approval vide No. TPT/NST/48/08(Pt-II)/ Dated 24/01/2019.

The identified stoppage & pickup points of the city bus service from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) junction to Mokokchung DEF and vice versa are GHSS junction, Arkong Ward junction, Police Point, Tongdensuyong, Sungkomen, Kapayong, Woodland Nursing Home, Fazl Ali College junction, Chuchuyimpang and Mokokchung DEF.

Likewise, the identified city bus stoppage and pickup points from town square (Police Point) to ISBT Khensa and vice versa are Police Point, New Market, IOC, Yimyu junction and ISBT Khensa.

The notification also informed that the City Bus Service shall operate from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and remain operative from Monday to Saturday every week. Fare rates will be Rs 5 for upto 2 km, Rs 10 upto 5 km and Rs 15 upto 10 km.
