NSU Bangalore holds 55th annual freshers’ meet

Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) celebrated its 55th Annual Freshers’ Meet on September 28 at St. Joseph’s University Auditorium, Bengaluru, under the theme “Nagas with a Purpose: Fostering the Culture of Giving Back.”

Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Govt of Nagaland who attended the event as Chief Guest underscored the value of education and unity within the Naga community, urging students to pursue excellence both individually and collectively, stated a press release from NSUB. 

Guest of Honor Sarah Fathima, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Government of Karnataka addressed the attendance on overcoming language barriers and contributing positively to the community.

NSF President Medovi Rhi in a message, emphasized the need for cohesion and service, particularly in the context of the challenges faced by the Naga people.

In her Welcome Address, NSUB President Nungsangmongla Ozukum spoke about the event’s theme and said the NSUB aims is to create a lasting impact in the city, fostering goodwill and cooperation between the Naga students and the people of this city.  The event also featured speeches from leaders ANSAM President, Luikang Luckson. 

The Freshers’ Meet also featured showcase of Naga traditions, including tribal dances, cultural fashion show, soulful musical performances, and artistic displays celebrating the community’s cultural heritage. 

More than 1,500 attendees, over 150 freshers, dignitaries, and representatives from various student organizations attended the programme.
