DIMAPUR, JUNE 10 (MExN): The National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) today stated that solidarity in action in accordance with the WHO’s safety protocol is the need of the hour to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
A press release from Hosheli Achumi, Chairperson, NSWON, NSCN said that “humanity is now on trial.”
“Our relationship with God is on trial. Such trials never seen before in the history of the world is significantly worth having a closer look. We have witnessed that COVID-19 pandemic respects no political culture, no boundary or race. Everyone is equally vulnerable to this highly infectious virus. For us, from our Christian perspective nothing less than brainstorming response is demanded. It calls for closer relationship with our God,” the NSWON said.
Citing how places of worship have been closed, the NSWON said that “we need to avail ourselves to use the time for self- meditation and realization and focus on the words of God.”
“This is the time for us to renew our relationship with God. This is the time to meditate and pray for one another. This is the time to stand together and pray for the front line workers, medical personnel, administrative officials, police personnel, volunteers, returnees on the way and in Quarantine centers and for the Covid-19 patients,” it added. It further called upon all people to “stand together in solidarity with the words of God and give no room for laxity.”
“We should redefine our spiritual approach while the dangerous virus is already in our midst. Let us use prayer as our most important weapon and our God as the greatest doctor,” it added.
Meanwhile, the NSWON asserted that in the midst of the pandemic, “our love for freedom and liberty should not be made to diminish.” “We have to stand by our family members, our friends and co-national workers across Nagalim. We have to uplift one another in every possible way, putting across the message that we need to stay attached with our heavenly father like never before. We must fight the good fight with God by our side,” it added.
The NSWON called upon all to follow the safety protocol issued by the WHO. Recognizing that the battle against this pandemic will be a long one, the NSWON however said “when there is solidarity and unity there is hope for everyone.”
