Condolences message pour in for YS Salem
Dimapur, July 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Ato Kilonser, Th Muivah has expressed sadness on the demise of YS Salem, Kilonser, Wung Tangkhul Region after a prolonged illness at New Delhi on July 21.
Salem joined the Naga National service on April 1, 1981. She served as the Chairperson of National Socialist Women Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) from April 2001 to 2014. She was a member of high level commission on Naga Reconciliation and also served as the Kilonser to the Ministry of War Victim Welfare.
“These are the few of many responsibilities she have taken up and served at the satisfaction of all. She rose from a brave lady soldier to a prominent leader in the organisation and government. She was a courageous, committed, principled and God-fearing lady. Her death leaves a vacuum in all our hearts none can fill. Her sacrifice and services rendered to the nation shall be remembered forever with deepest respect and honor,” Muivah stated in the condolence message.
NSWON: National Socialist Women Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) in a condolence note has expressed sadness at the passing away of YS Salem.
She was closely associated with NSWON in different capacities during the long span of her 40 years of service for the Naga nation, the organization stated in its condolence message.
“She served as the longest Chairperson of the NSWON. She was a lady who possessed indomitable energy and spirit with amazing qualities befitting her status as a dedicated Naga national worker. With the loss of such a great soul, she left behind a trail of beautiful memories. Words would be failing us to express our deep sorrow for the loss so dear to us,” NSWON said.
“The Naga nation will always remember her as her name will be recorded in the history of the Naga political movement. The vacuum thus created will be difficult to fill up,” it added.
