THE NAGALAND University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) has decided to stage a phase-wise agitation from February 6 to express its resentment over the impasse at Lumami Campus, consequent upon the frequent disturbances by land donors and the inaction of the University in settling the issue.
The decision to stage phase-wise agitation was arrived at its general body meeting of the NUNTSA representing Kohima, Medziphema and Lumami Campuses at Kohima on January 31 last.
It may be mentioned that, aggrieved by the harassment from land donors, the NUNTSA has served on ultimatum up to 12-12-2005 wherein it was stated that the Non Teaching staff of Lumami campus will not attend office at Lumami without getting and undertaking from the spokesperson of land donors of Lumami that they will not disrupt the smooth functioning of the University office at Lumami.
The impasse remains unresolved till date, according to a release issued by the Association president, Imchatoshi.
In this connection, the president, said the Association has decided to express its resentment by way of phase-wise agitation with effect from February 6.
“On completion of the third phase of agitation, further course of action will be decided by the Joint Staff Council of the three campuses,” a release received here said.
Public and all others concerned have been requested to bear with the inconveniences “that may be caused due to the agitation,” a release added.
