NU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pardeshi Lal and other officials during the inaugural and official language pledge programme of Hindi Fortnight 2021 on September 14.

Lumami, September 16 (MExN): The inaugural and official language pledge programme of Hindi Fortnight 2021 was organized at Nagaland University headquarters Lumami on September 14.
The chief guest, NU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pardeshi Lal, emphasized on the importance of mother tongue and said that Hindi language will become a universal language only when the number of people who understand it increases. He stated that the contribution of Bharatendu Harishchandra, father of modern Hindi, is incomparable in the development of Hindi language.
The programme started with Saraswati Vandana, sung by Rudresh, music teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya and welcome address by Assistant Professor Dr Pranay Punj Pankaj. Professor Mithilesh Kumar Sinha, Department of Economics, in his address asserted that the future of Hindi language is bright and it is not threatened by any other language. The official language pledge was led by Registrar Dr Abemo and it ended with vote of thanks proposed by PRO Peter Ki, stated a press release received here.
