NU-SASRD holds entrepreneurship programme at government schools

Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): An awareness programme on entrepreneurship for Grade- XI was organized by STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU, SASRD on October 19 at SFS Higher Secondary School and Government Higher Secondary School, Medziphema.
A press release from the Centre stated that Anini Nyenga, Project Manager, YouthNet was the resource person. The session started with a motivational activity which was followed by responsive session from the student participants.
The topics covered in the session included - the real definition of an entrepreneur, the components of entrepreneurship which includes - Heart that gives the drive, Head which leads us to ideas, Hands with which we work and Home which includes the people that support us as a team.
She also stressed on personal characteristics, interpersonal skills, critical and creative skills and practical skills. Further she emphasized on a chart which showed the life years invested in different stages that include our school life (20%), college life (10%) and our work life (70%) which means that we have to be very sure about what we choose to do in our life and that one should spend more time in discovering and developing “one’s skills which is the only true definition of success, being able to discover ourselves and perform to our full potential.”
Nyenga thus challenged the students to keep their minds active, to start thinking and come up with ideas because great ideas don’t just happen but it comes from “our own simple ideas and to think beyond Government jobs because the future belongs to the entrepreneurs.”
The session ended by showing an inspirational video of an ordinary person who started from trash to becoming a “very successful entrepreneur.”
At SFS Higher Secondary School, Medziphema, the programme was chaired by Dr Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant, STINER who also gave an introduction of the programme and the centre STINER.
Binoy, Higher Secondary teacher pronounced the invocation and the welcome address were delivered by Fr George, Principal of the School.
Also at Government Higher Secondary School, Medziphema, the programme was chaired by Dr Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant, STINER who also gave an introduction of the programme and the Centre STINER.
Kezhalhouviu-ü, graduate teacher pronounced the invocation and the welcome address. A number of 151 students participated in the programme conducted at SFS Higher Secondary School, Medziphema.
While a number of 73 students participated in the programme conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Medziphema. In total, a number of 224 students participated in the awareness programme conducted by STINER-TFC, Medziphema.
