NU-SASRD holds programme on entrepreneurship

Phek October 15 (MExN): A one-day Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship was organized by STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU-SASRD at Phek Town Council Hall.


Welhikhro Mero, Branch Manager, EACATOL, Phek was the resource person. Vepoto Ringa, ATM, ATMA chaired the programme.


A press release from the University stated that an overview of STINER- its aims and objectives were presented by Andrew Lalthawmliana, Project Assistant, STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre.


In the technical session, resource person presented on ‘Introduction and Scope of Entrepreneurship,’ ‘Do(s) and Don’t(s) in Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Role and Importance of Entrepreneurs in Society Upliftment.’ 


He talked about the present scenario of jobs in Nagaland where only 1 out of every 8 individual has a chance of securing a government job, further encouraging the participants to be risk takers and to be positive and creative.


Mero also mentioned about proper and efficient utilization of time. Sharing from his experience, he advised the participants interested in taking up an enterprise to start small, never give up, to choose an enterprise that one is skilled at and to keep learning.


Razoukhruyi Dozo, Proprietor, Bamboo Grove Restaurant and Chetezo Akami, Gen Secy, PCCI shared their experiences to the participants.


A total of 59 participants attended the programme which included Kelvin Khamo, HEA, Department of Horti, entrepreneurs from Phek, members of PCCI, youth members from PTYS, SHG members and students from Skill Academy, Phek.
