Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The Post Graduate Students Union (PGSU) Nagaland University Campus Kohima today while extending gratitude to President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Visitor of Nagaland University for appointing a Vice Chancellor ‘on time without delaying much’ has expressed hope that pending issues in the NU be remedied sooner. The union also welcomed the newly appointed VC of Nagaland University, Prof. K Kannan.
“The students’ community look forward for the pending issues to be solved immediately for the further progress of the Nagaland University,” union president Thonsenlo Magh said.
The post graduate students of Kohima campus also expressed its desire to live together in a compact campus where all the needed facilities can be implemented for the fullest development of the students’ personality.“At present, the students are suffering due to scattered departments, lacking of well equipped library facilities and lacking of sports infrastructure,” the union lamented. The union expects the new VC to carry out development works immediately in the allotted land for a new Kohima Campus at Merema.Also urging the latter to begin the management and engineering college, the union hoped that “you will make our university transparent and a quality university.” It also wished Prof. Kannan all the best in his endeavour.
