NU VC’s inefficiency under NUTA scanner

Dimapur, Feb 21 (MExN): Nagaland University teachers are unhappy at what it termed “inefficiency and lackadaisical attitude” of Vice Chancellor Prof. K Kannan, leading to the resignation of Professor in-charge (Examinations).

According to the NUTA, in a release, the attitude of the Vice Chancellor led to the resignation of the professor in-charge (Examinations) in the midst of the ongoing undergraduate examinations, on February 20.

“The resignation was submitted due to negligence of the concerned university authorities and the extreme pressure of regular workload in his own department and research activities and projects as well as working full time in the examination section” the NUTA in a statement explained. However, in spite of repeated requests to relieve the Professor In-charge of either responsibility for smooth functioning of the system, the Vice Chancellor did not comply and has not advertised the said post of Controller of Examination till date, the note also pointed out.

Acknowledging the effort and contribution of the Professor In-charge towards streamlining the university’s examination system and smooth conduct of the same during his tenure, the association registered its strong protest against the attitude of the VC.
