Slow pace of developmental work in the new College site shocks Parliamentary Secretary

Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education and SCERT, Deo Nukhu today visited Zisaji Presidency College and assured all possible support to shift the College to its new site at Alihkong.
Visiting the new college site (Alihkong), Parliamentary Secretary express surprise on the slow pace of developmental work in the new College site and said, “the developmental activities at the new college site is far below my expectation because I thought some buildings must have come up by now.” Assuring the faculties to shift the College at its new site Nukhu said, “After I reach my office, I will see as to what has blocked the progress of the work. If the work does not progress at all we may even compel to cancel the contract work because we cannot effort to waste time as this is the only higher educational institute in the district.” He also assured to deploy more staff as the College is running short of faculties in some department, which hampers students to opt for some of the honors paper.
Acknowledging lack of developmental activities, the Parliamentary Secretary said that more focus will be given to backward areas and if things go well hopefully the College will get all the facilities as the 12th 5th year plan coinciding with the term of the Government. Nukhu called upon the teaching faculties to be more dedicated, sincere and have more commitment so that they produce more officers, scholars and intellectuals.
Dr. Anungla, Principal, ZPC welcomed the gathering saying that it is a wonderful opportunity for Kiphire to have the Parliamentary Secretary and especially for Zisajians and expresses hope that the visiting team will address the grievances of the College.
Pukhato, Associate Professor, Political Science, President, Teaching Faculties, Shikaho, Students Union and others who spoke on the occasion also highlighted the problems faced by the College. They pointed out some of the problems like lack of library facilities, non-availability of librarian, and non-availability of ministerial staff like Head Assistance in the College, which also hamper the smooth functioning of the College.
District administration, college faculties, and Deputy Director Higher Education also accompanied the team.
