Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami (NUSU-L) celebrated its 26th Varsity Cultural and Literary Meet 2025 at I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall.

Lumami, April 24 (MExN): The Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami (NUSU-L) celebrated its 26th Varsity Cultural and Literary Meet 2025, under the theme “Mosaic of culture: Exploring identity through culture and literature” held at I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall.
Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC, Mokokchung, Nagaland was the chief guest. Humtsoe spoke about the importance of culture and identity in today’s fast-changing world, and encouraged the youth to remain rooted in their traditions while embracing progress and innovation. He emphasized that culture is not merely a reflection of the past, but a living, evolving force that shapes who we are and how we connect with each other.
Asserting that “Preserving our cultural identity and traditional values is not only about holding on to customs and practices but about carrying forward the essence of who we are as a people,” he also urged the students to take pride in their heritage and to become ambassadors of their community’s values and wisdom. According to him, the younger generation plays a vital role in safeguarding and transmitting this cultural legacy to future generations.
This year’s event featured a diverse array of cultural performances, traditional games, literary competitions, debates, storytelling sessions, folk songs and dances.
