NUSU Lumami writes to Governor

Lumami, May 20 (MExN): Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami (NUSU, L) has drawn the attention of the Governor of Nagaland lamenting that there has been no positive response to the representation submitted to him by the union on September 6, 2017.

In a letter addressed to the Governor, NUSU Lumami president, K Chumseli Anar and general secretary, Esther Lohe reminded that “Rs. 1 lakh to enhance and advance the sound system was also sworn, while installation of street lights, ATM booth and construction of footpath towards girls’ hostel were also considered having other things assured.”

The students’ union maintained that just an occasional flying visit to Nagaland University, Lumami would neither alter the course of the university nor “give a wing for an inch of advancement.”

In addition, it lamented, “We cannot find any footprint of any present days’ Chief Ministers of Nagaland within the boundaries of NU, Lumami. It’s neither seasonal nor occasional and that is not very phenomenal on the side of the state government to ignore the existence of Nagaland University.”

However, the union was optimistic that “our voices would be heard and not misheard nor unheard.” It wished that “the wind of change face on our side and may the great leaders come along with that wind someday.”
