NUSU seeks NSF intervention on scholarship issue

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 25 (MExN): Nagaland University Students Union (NUSU) on Saturday sought the intervention of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on the issue of nonpayment of full amount of scholarship to students by the State Government. At a meeting with the NSF officials on November 25, NUSU (L) president, K. Chumseli Anar shared the anguish of the students while highlighting that the State Government has failed to comply with the demands made by the NUSU on October 21 seeking clarification. It had also observed candlelight protest on November 16 & 18 respectively while giving one week deadline to the State Government and the concerned department, a press release issued by the Union informed. During the meeting, NSF president stated that Federation along with the NUSU body would meet the Department of Higher Education on November 27, 2017 and find out the details on what ground the department has failed to give the scholarship to the students in full amount. In this connection, the NUSU is keeping in abeyance the state wide protest till November 27, 2017, the press release stated.
