The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) stated that suggestion have pour in from various quarters that doping test is introduced into Naga wrestling tournament.
In this respect, NWA has decided that doping test may be done randomly on the wrestlers from the first round or from the individual round so as to maintain the credibility of the championship.
“Any wrestler found positive under Doping Test for using Anabolic Steroid drug and performance enhancing drug will be initiated with strict disciplinary action,” according to NWA.
NWA will be conducting 28th Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 cum 2nd Under 16 wrestling on February 28 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).
The 18 top wrestlers each from three NWA units- Angami Sports Association, Chakhesang Wrestling Association and Zeliang Wrestling Association will vie for the coveted champion title.
