NWUC demands justice against July 15 killing

Imphal, July 18 (NNN): The Naga Women Union, Chandel (NWUC), has strongly condemned the brutal killing of M. Lucy Maring (57) on July 15 last. 

 According to the Union, Lucy was staying at National Game Village, Zone-III in Langol. She is survived by a daughter who is studying in class-X. Lucy was killed in the evening of July 15 at Sawombung in Imphal East district.

 "It may be mentioned that Maring is a Naga tribe which is known to every citizen of Manipur and the Naga community is not involved in the present conflict in Manipur," the NWUC said. 

"The heinous crime committed to an innocent woman is a cowardice act. The concerned authority or group must initiate that justice must be brought to the innocent soul," the NWUC demanded.

TSLI condemns 

The Tangkhul Shanao Long, Imphal (TSLI) has strongly condemned the killing of M Luch Maring on July 15. A condemnation note issued by TSLI said “this kind of wrong must be stopped immediately and the law of the land must be imposed with a strong hand.”  It also expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
