Nyemjun Konyak displays Naga traditional go-cart at Kala Utsav; wins first runner-up

Chümoukedima, February 17 (MExN): GHSS, Diphupar ‘A’ Chümoukedima honoured N Nyemjun Konyak for bagging the first runner-up in indigenous toys and games (male) category during the Kala Utsav National level competition 2022-23 held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from  January 3 to 7 last. N Nyemjun Konyak, who was the lone student from Government schools of Nagaland who got the privilege to display the indigenous go-cart in the exhibition. 

Nyemjun Konyak a student of class 9 made a Naga traditional go-cart with natural raw materials collected from his native village, Sheanghah Chingnyu, Mon district. During the competition, he demonstrated twice the functioning of go-cart by driving in the corridor where the judges were quite impressed and remarked ‘this is called the real indigenous toys and games,’ GHSS Diphupar-A, Principal, C Henow Phom stated in a press release. 

The school also congratulated Kaimangsomba Chang and Moanaro Jamir, state level winners Kala Utsav 2022-23 for participating in solo drama (male) category and 2D visual art (female) category respectively at the National level. Altogether there were 714 participants from 28 states, 8 Union territories, the KVS and NVS showcased their talent in 10 different art forms.

The Kala Utsav winners were invited at Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023 at New Delhi.
