In a thrilling display of football, Nyenshen FC and DEF Tuensang emerged victorious in their respective matches, securing their spots in the semifinals of the local championship.
Nyenshen FC triumphed over Northeast Youngster Football School with a decisive 2-0 win, courtesy of Mongko, who made a statement with his stellar performance. After being benched for the first two matches, Mongko seized the opportunity to start, scoring twice in the 29thand 47thminutes. His goals propelled Nyenshen FC to the top of their group, earning them a semifinal clash against Tiaren FC on October 30.
Northeast Youngster, with a record of one draw and one win, needed at least a draw to advance. However, they were outclassed by the experienced Nyenshen side, who dominated the game with precision and control. Mongko’s clinical finishing was a highlight, showcasing his determination and skill in a high-stakes match.
In the second match, DEF Tuensang faced a daunting task, needing a win with a margin of at least three goals after a draw and a loss in their previous matches. The match began with intense action as Langpong scored the opening goal for DEF Tuensang in the 9thminute. Donsang FC quickly responded with an equalizer from Shangti in the 21stminute.
The second half saw a determined DEF Tuensang side take control. Langpong completed a remarkable hattrick with goals in the 54thand 55thminutes, while Hainsingongbe added another in the 37thminute, sealing a resounding 4-1 victory. DEF Tuensang’s win sets them up for a semifinal encounter with Son Kük Laang FC on October 29.
