Phek, January 28 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Phek Nagaland organised District Youth Parliament (DYP) on January 24 at Phek Government College.
Programme coordinator NYK Phek N Albert Krocha gave the key note address. He highlighted the origin, goals and objectives of the NYKS Institute and stressed on the importance of DYP programme.
Rules for the competition were briefed by N Albert Dukru, Jury board member. 21 Contestants participated in the competition from different parts of Kiphire and Phek districts. Principal, Phek Government College, Lecturers, NYK officials were part of the programme. Tsaliba Thonger from Kiphire district emerged with the highest point as winner. Laugti and Tsise were tagged with 2nd and 3rd position. Prelo Watsah and Krote-u Kapfo were the 2nd and 3rd respectively from Phek Distict. Webeko Akami chaired the event while the programme began with Kelvin invoking God’s presence. Rene Resuh proposed the word of gratitude and Khrove-u Koza said the closing prayer.
