Mon, August 4 (MExN): The COVID-19 Block Task Force (BTF), Tobu undertook vaccination drive in Obay village which is one of the remotest villages under Mon district on August 3.
The village is nestled alongside Pillar No. 148 in the Indo-Myanmar International Border on the Indian side, the COVID-19 BTF, Tobu informed in a press release. Since Obay village has no road connection, the team led by ADC Tobu Keyirangding Hegui, NCS, accompanied by medical staffs of Tobu CHC, BDO Tobu and one Red Cross volunteer arrived there on foot.
In a relentless effort to make vaccination available to everyone in the Sub-Division, it is one of the onerous vaccination drives executed by the COVID-19 BTF, Tobu in many of the villages under the Tobu Sub-Division where there are no adequate medical staffs and proper road connectivity.
According to the release, Obay has 30 households with a population of 100. “The villagers volunteered for the vaccination and a total of 41 eligible individuals were vaccinated. Obay has become another village in the district to achieve 100% COVID-19 vaccination,” it stated.
