The narrow roads in Dimapur compounded with creation of multiple lanes by vehicle users have been a major cause of traffic jams. Added to this causes are illegal vehicle parking and dumping of construction materials both by private and government departments along the roadside.
One such example can be witnessed outside the gate of SBI Bazaar Branch, Dhobinalla, Dimapur where an unattended cable roll belonging to Telecom Department and a vehicle parked regularly throughout the day obstructs smooth flow of traffic.
It is not known whether the vehicle parked everyday at the location causing inconvenience to commuters has the approval of the Traffic Police. The prolonged unattended cable roll at the location poses grave danger for pedestrians and commuters as well especially at night.
