The October 7 walkathon will be held as the first phase of agitation towards the ENPO’s demand for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state.
Accordingly, the ENSF has informed that there would be restrictions on all offices and commercial establishments and businesses. However, the District Administration, Police, Para Military, Medical, Fire & Emergency services would be exempted.
The seven tribal federating units of ENSF—Chang Wedoshi Setshang, Konyak Students Union, Khiamniungan Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, Tikhir Student’ Union, United Sangtam Students’ Conference, Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako— have been endorsed to make logistical arrangements in their respective areas. The nature and background Frontier Nagaland and history of Eastern Nagaland is to be expounded in respective tribal vernacular language in order to enhance a comprehensive knowledge to the masses, stated a press release from the ENSF.
Stating that the agitation would be strictly implemented in all the jurisdictions, it also cautioned that no leniency would be extended to any defaulters.
Meanwhile, the ENSF also called on the public to “get prepared for any groundbreaking initiative” in the event of tepid response. It also appealed to the people of Eastern Nagaland who are residing outside to extend prayer and support in any manner possible.
