Members of the ASTD, CKU and KUDD after the joint meeting.

Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD), Chiecha KUda Union (CKU), and the Khezhakeno Union Dimapur District (KUDD) while resolving to embark on a new journey of camaraderie and kinship, appealed to all like-minded organisations to join them in ushering a new era of better understanding and relations in the society.
In a joint declaration issued by the presidents of ASTD, KUDD and CKU, the organisations stated that a joint meeting was convened to discuss the physical assault of one Aremchang Imchen by Kevechulo Koza and Keneiletuo Zumvü of Khezhakeno and Chiechama respectively, on October 13. It said that the ASTD expressed “vehement unhappiness” at the act, and “the parties seriously deliberated against the use of the name Ao tribe by the two assailants and assaulting the victim Aremchang Imchen using lethal weapon causing serious injuries which made the victim comatose to injuries [sic].” However, after thorough deliberation, it was resolved that all the parties would not take them matter on tribal lines and decided to amicably settle the matter, the release stated.
It said that the house was of unanimous opinion that such brutal assaults had no place in this day and age when Nagas are yearning for peace, goodwill and harmony amongst the Naga brethren and urged all members of the organisations to refrain from such “barbaric, senseless and despicable activities” in the future.
