Odd-Even system to continue in Dimapur, Kohima

Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Police Commissioner in compliance to Government of Nagaland and Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur order has said that the essential movement of all vehicles within Dimapur district will continue to ply in odd-even system from July 18 till 31. 

CP Dimapur Rothihu Tetso, IPS in an order stated that the violation of the order will be penalized U/S 177 and 179 of the MV Act 1988. Exempted category mentioned in the aforementioned order shall be exempted. All officers and staff in the exempted category should carry identity card issued by respective HoD, he added. 

Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed that odd-even system for movement of private vehicles, has been implemented under Kohima Municipal area as per Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, on all days except Sundays.

“Violation of this restriction Order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988,” DC Kohima reiterated while adding that the order shall be implemented with immediate effect and remain enforced till August 1 for the strict compliance of all concerned.

Odd-Even system: 

Odd number day: On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (eg. 1,3,5,7 & 9) will be allowed to ply. 

Even number day: On every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (eg. 2,4,6,8 & 0) will be allowed to ply.
