Officers receive medal for success of 2011 census

Altogether 59 officers had been conferred with certificates of honour and medals for their commendable works towards 2011 census in the state of Nagaland.

The award was given away by Nagaland’s governor Dr. Ashwani Kumar during the release of Primary Census Abstract of Nagaland here at the Capital Convention Centre in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, council of ministers, parliamentary secretaries, chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir and V Hekali Zhimomi, IAS, Director of Census Operations, Nagaland.

Dr. Kumar said that it has been pleasure for him to present the certificates of honour and medals to the most deserving officers who have displayed exceptional qualities in accomplishing the tasks entrusted to them. Governor congratulated director of census operations Nagaland and her team of able officers and staff who have left no stone unturned to first conduct house to house survey and then do the actual population enumeration. “This team of professionals have been working for the last three years from June 2011 to June 2013 to accomplish this huge task,” he said.

Further, Governor congratulated the award winners and the entire team of Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, civil society, people of Nagaland, numerous householders and tribes for having participated in 2011 census. He was optimistic that these reports will go a long way in helping all of us shape our future. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also congratulated and thanked every person who has been involved in this Herculean task of collecting the Census 2011 data.
