The Oking Christian School Kohima today observed its cultural day at CBCK Jubilee Hall, Kohima. Gracing the occasion as the special guest, Mürohü Chotso, President, Chakhesang Cultural Organization stressed on the need to promote and protect the rich culture and tradition of the Nagas.

He also stressed on the need to promote folk songs and colorful traditional attires. He encouraged the students not feel shy to sing folk song or wear traditional dress as it represents the identity of the Nagas.

Meanwhile, he praised Oking Christian School for performing well in the HSLC examinations. Chotso thanked the teachers for their sincere and tireless effort in moulding young minds.

The cultural day was marked by an act of stone pulling ceremony, display of traditional attires, folk song, folklore of Mehouvi-ü & Morusa, Sema folk song, Nepali dance, Naga wrestling, etc.

The programme was compered by Atanie and Zhaletuo. Azone invoked God’s blessings while Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) senior pastor Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh pronounced benediction.

Presently, Oking Christian School has around 500 students from Class A to X. It is located at Kitsubozou, Kohima.
