The Season 2 Kohima Premier League (KPL) under the aegis of the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) concluded today at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chumoukedima.
In a final match played between Oking Outlaws and Capital Sixers, Oking Outlaws won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The Capital Sixers after being put in to bat first, scored 139 runs in 20 overs with Imomenba leading the way with 31 runs while being followed by Zipa and Peter scoring 27 and 20 runs respectively.
Despite of the respectable total put up, wickets were quickly toppled down by the outlaws with thupuluzo taking 4 wickets and kevilelie taking 2 wickets.
In the run chase, Oking Outlaws openers, Suneper and Seyievizo, shone yet again with a fiery 54 runs and 45 runs respectively which enabled their team to overcome the final Target of 140 in 19.1 overs. While the Capital Sixers bowlers held their line and length with Keviselhou 2/31 and Solomon 2/18, it wasn’t enough to containing the outlaws scintillating batting display.
Thupuluzo of Oking Outlaws was named man of the final match. Seyievizo of Oking Outlaws was named best batsman. Keviselhou of Capital Sixers was named best bowler. Imlisunep was named best wicketkeeper. Seyievizo was named man of the series.
The prize distribution program was graced by Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary, Nagaland Cricket Association as the special guest.
