Mokokchung, October 26 (MExN): One person was killed and two other injured in a road accident near Dikhu River under Chuchuyimpang village jurisdiction, Mokokchung District on October 26. The accident took place around 12 Noon, when the Tata Sumo from Tuensang, reportedly fell into a gorge about 220 feet below, killing the driver, identified as one Ato, on the spot and injuring the two. Mokokchung Traffic Police reported that five occupants including the driver were travelling to Dimapur via Mokokchung when the accident occurred. One female passenger sustained serious injury while another male passenger received minor injury, the police said. They are currently being treated at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital while the body of the driver has been handed over to his relatives. The police further said the vehicle is yet to be recovered and the reason behind the incident is yet to be been ascertained.
