Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The Transport Department has informed that the movement of all heavy three-axle and above vehicles along the National Highway stretch from Dimapur-Kohima-Khuzama will be restricted for a period of one month, beginning from October 13 to November 13, 2022. The notification, issued by Chief Secretary, J Alam, however stated that heavy vehicles carrying material from Dimapur up to Molvom/Pherima for the Dhansiri to Zubza rail project will be exempt. “The load being carried by every such vehicle should be within the limits as provided in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989,” it said. The notification further instructed the Motor Vehicles Department to coordinate with the District Administration and the Police to enforce the directive and to place appropriate signs at suitable locations, as per Section 116 of the MV Act, 1988.
