Ongoing sit-in dharna a waste of time: Rio led NPF

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front Youth Wing (Central) led by Neiphiu Rio today said that the ongoing ‘sit-in dharna’ organized by the Youth Wing owing allegiance to former Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu “is nothing but a sheer democratic contempt being enacted by people who refuse to come to reality and accept the truth.”

The people who are in the dharna have been wasting their valuable time and energy for many days together just sitting and listening to empty political discourses, stated a press note from Rio led NPF Youth Wing (Central).

“The facts of the legal and democratic applications on the ongoing political imbroglio has been explicitly expounded by several legal luminaries and by persons attached with other institutions,” it further maintained.

It is quite unfortunate that they refuse to accept the truth, it added.

The Youth Wing further decried the attempt of the other group to pressure the Governor to meet their "fake demand" as going “beyond the democratic and legal norm.”

Under no circumstances the truth will be allow to be defeated, it reiterated adding that it will “steadfastly uphold and defend the sanctity of the democratic set up in the state.”

“Politics should be play base on the true democratic principle,” it said.

In this connection, the NPF Youth Wing also appealed to the people taking part in the dharna not to waste their time and energy, but called it off and “let the law of the land take its own course of action.”
