An open letter to the Commissioner of Police

Apology for not addressing you with the due share of courtesy and respect for which the reasons follow as below.

Why I am addressing this to you is because in my hand I have the screen Print of your letter authorizing the Prohibition Order U/S 144 CR.Pc (Though not sure whether you’re authorized to do so) for a peaceful rally held against the Government for imprisoning citizens who exposed the tip of the corruption running in our state, it not only shows your lack of judgement but also your will to do what is right.

Is it not your duty to differentiate what is wrong and what is right? Is it not your duty to assess the situation and act accordingly? How can you resort to force when those people out there fighting against the wrong were participating in a peaceful rally? For this I now ask you, how dare you?

I hope you remember the oath where you swore to protect the weak, to serve the people, to be just yet you cowered under the pressure of those daylight thieves. How can you call yourself a Christian? Even if it’s for namesake. Is it too much to ask of you to stand behind what is right?

A Government that defies the people, a Government instead of assuring the people justice will be served sorts to protect those who are wrong, a Government that steals from the people, a Government that is made for the elites is no government of the people. And when you stand behind those people you’ve made your choice of protecting them and for this you’re no different than those thieves who’ve sucked us dry, those who have compromised our rights. Where is your credibility? Just because you received a letter from a Suited booted ignorant Bureaucrat who does not know the Fundamental Rights each Citizen has, does that mean you will not question that? You have trampled on the Rights of the people, that is what it is and no amount of justification is going to turn it white.

You had the choice to say NO, you had the choice to assess the situation more diligently, though March 5th incident is a reminder this was December the 15th and it’s much bigger than that incident. Here the people were gathering to show their solidarity for those who had the guts to stand for what is right, here you were dealing with the people of Nagaland.

French Revolution will be nothing compared to what will happen once the people of Nagaland realizes they are the power and not some hillbilly with suits and boots.

I only hope your future actions are just and I only hope you make peace with the oath you had taken, to stand for justice.

May God have Mercy.
