An open letter to Khekiye

Uncle Khekiye, we the undersigned youths from Eastern Nagaland are constrained to share with you our opinions concerning on your political view of points on the past Naga national events you have stated in your final chapter and appeared in Nagaland dailies on March 16.

We accept the truth of the past historical events concerning on the Shillong Accord which you have mentioned in your final chapter. All these are known as facts by all Naga young generations of today and no dispute is there on this historical facts.  But what was the political outcome of the accord is important in the history.

We, the young generation will never accept the accord as the end of the Naga national sovereignty or as a full-stop of our nationalism, but who used the accord intentionally for their own sectarian political games will be held the accountability in the history. They used the accord to incite hatred and enmity among the Nagas and committed killings. Some used it to patronize the fratricidal killings and divisions among the Nagas as you are doing.  

We are proud of celebrating Naga Independence Day on 14th August every year since we didn’t lose it in any manner or at any point of time in our history by signing any accord/agreement.  Today the Nagas have celebrated 59th Republic Day of Nagaland and will be celebrated 68th Naga Independence Day in August. Through these we, the young people know that the Naga national stand is unswervingly safeguarded by our predecessor leaders throughout the trials in the past years and we are proud of them.  Also we know the bounden duty we should shoulder from our elderly leaders and march ahead undauntedly to the destiny our people so desire to reach.
