Open letter to State Vigilance Commission, Nagaland

The general public has high hope on State Vigilance Commission (SVC) thinking that there is at least a commission to ventilate the grievances on any issue of public interest for speedy and judicious action without political favor, monetary benefit or fear of threat from the alleged accused.

The credibility of SVC is questioned as till today no tangible result has been achieved concerning the issue of public interest in-spite of complaints lodged and spot verification done.

Having patiently observed the indifferent attitude of SVC, I on behalf of the affected area and villages draw your attention to the misuse of fund for the construction of road from Phek to Chozuba under NLCPR. The work has been left incomplete.

The complaint was lodged by Congress on 19th April 2012 and subsequently spot verification was done by SVC on 28th & 29th June 2012 but the case has not been registered till date. The delay has created misconception in the minds of the public on the SVC as to question whether;

1. SVC has gained something from the contractor and other accused persons in one way or the other
2. SVC could have been subdued by the contractor
3. SVC is under threat by some so-called powerful politician in the ruling govt.
4. This is the tradition of the SVC to delay cases as long as possible till the case dies a natural death.
The SVC should live up to its name and deliver justice to the expectation of the public.
