
DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (MExN): The North East India International Model UN is open to applications for the Harvard Model UN to be held in Hyderabad, from August 15 to 18. A press note informed that the conference is open to students studying in class 10, 11 and 12. With limited seats available, the conference is for young leaders “determined to make change” and interested in debate, the United Nations, global politics, social issues. The NEIMUN is a non-profit educational foundation which aims to encourage students participate actively on the study of international organizations and global issues.
Harvard Model UN is an opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues. The note informed that HMUN India 2013 will have participation of over 1000 young leaders from schools across the world. The third session of this conference in India will be marked by the presence of leaders from across industries and would provide platforms for delegates and faculty advisors to interact with these leaders and other speakers. It was also informed that the cost of the conference is Rs 10,950 (exclusive of travel and accommodation).
Students will be academically supported by the NEIMUN Conference team and through a delegate, facilitate the understanding of the rules, style, goals of Model UN and research methods. Recent 10th passed students not enrolled in any college/school are also eligible to apply. The Last date of application is June 10. Interviews and Group discussions are scheduled to be held in Kohima on June 17.
