
Safe motherhood and family planning camp held
Kohima, May 2 (MExN): Congress today called for collective effort to bring peace and unity in the state.Addressing the Safe motherhood and family planning camp organized by Kohima Obst & Gynae Society of Nagaland at Community Health Centre, Viswema, MLA K V Pusa, president, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee called for joint effort to bring real peace and unity in Naga society. He said various organizations and people talk of peace and unity but they have not been to the grassroots level where peace and unity could come.
The Congress leader said shouting peace and making high rhetoric would not bring real peace and unity in Naga society. We must go to the grassroots level to build peace and unity, Pusa said. Lauding the Doctors and KOGSON for organizing the camp for the common people, the congress president urged Naga organizations and officers to go to the villages and work for the welfare of the needy people, which would ultimately deliver peace and unity. But he regretted that organizations and officers have failed to go to the needy and targeted people. He said Nagas can only progress if peace and unity prevails in society. He said as long as peace and unity continue to elude Nagas, they would be left behind in all aspects.
Hundreds of women from southern Angami area attended the camp where doctors briefed about safe motherhood and advantage of family planning. Earlier the programme was chaired by Dr. K. Keditsu, Sr. Vice President, KOGSON, while invocation was pronounced by Krovi Vitsu, Catechist VHC member. Introduction note was delivered by Dr. Kevingulie Khro, President, KOGSON, while Neihovi Toso VDB secretary and Dr. Chelo medical officer CHC Viswema delivered short speeches and vote of thanks was proposed by Vizohol Vitsu, Chairman VHC.
