
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): Several organizations have condemned the October 27 firing incidents in Dimapur.
NCD
The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) said that there is no justification for any kind of coercion, intimidation, threat or killing. “We don’t like the phrase senseless killing and threats as it makes no sense in this civilized world. Therefore, anti-social activities, criminal and extortion of all kind that are prevalent should be stopped,” a press release from the NCD said.
It appealed to all groups to “take-off the culture of killing, extortion, intimidation and hatred and put on the culture of love and harmony.” The NCD further called upon the State Government to step up measures for the safety and security of all citizen and establishments in Dimapur. It meanwhile lauded Dimapur Police for their prompt action and demanded that a criminal case be registered.
NGBF
The Nagaland Gaonbura Federation (NGBF), while appreciating the NSCN K (Niki group) for “admitting their involvement in blank firing incident,” however stated that “such act of intimidation by any group or individuals shall not be tolerated.”
It appealed to the law enforcing agencies and the concerned authorities of the State to book the culprits and punish them as per the law of the land and make a necessary rectification as far as loopholes in the systems of governing are concerns. It further appealed all to shun violence and maintain peace at this juncture “as we solemnly wait for Naga political solution to get materialised.”
NBCD
The Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) also stated that such “barbaric acts of violence were creating a fear psychosis to the colony residents and cannot be acceptable when the Naga society is desiring for peace and tranquility.”
Further, the NBCD said this kind of violence have no place in civilized society and should be condemned by all people and the society.
