
DIMAPUR, JULY 13 (MExN): Following the report of the alleged rape of a 5 year old girl at 10th Mile Tsiesema village jurisdiction (near stone crusher) on July 9 evening, several organisations have condemned the incident.
The Yimkhiung Liberü Arihako Kohima (YLAK) while condemning the incident said that the victim was rushed to NHAK under critical condition and is still under mental trauma grieved stricken state of mind, a press release from the YAA President, M Tansola and General Secretary, Athsang said.
It further expressed concern that the accused has still not been caught, and appealed to the State machineries and all the right thinking citizens to cooperate and help in nabbing the culprit and book him under the law.
The Yimkhiung Students’ Union Kohima (YSUK) in a condemnation note said such inhumane and barbaric crime had no place in the society and appealed to the investigating authorities to expedite the matter and deliver justice at the earliest.
The union stated that crimes, especially “rape” dehumanize societies and letting the perpetrators of such crimes go unpunished is a threat to the society and strongly condemned and urged the same to be condemned by all.
The union further appealed to the law enforcing authorities to book the culprit under proper sections of law with most befitting punishment as per his crime and under non-bailable offence.
The Tikhir Union Kohima (TUK) has also strongly condemned alleged rape incident and urged the law enforcing agency to leave no stone unturned to book the accused and award the befitting punishment as per law so that such incident does not occur in the near future.
It also expressed shock over such barbaric and inhuman act and called upon everyone to condemn the same.
